This is an awesome idea! My family has a long history with SIUC. I even have a 1935 yearbook in my office on campus as I too, have a 28 year employment history with SIUC. The yearbook includes many of the people after whom the buildings were named, such as the Late President H.W. Shryock, Dean of Women, Lucy K. Woody, William McAndrew, James W. Neckers, Robert Dunn Faner, and the list goes on and on. My aunt was a student here at the time and the yearbook belongs to her. She went on to pioneer teaching school in Alaska in the 1950s. She was just a little farm girl from Jonesboro, IL yet she had been taught to value education. One of my uncles was head of the Physical Plant during the Morris years. These people have been forgotten, but at 90 years old, my aunt is still interested in SIUC and my uncle is very proud to have been part of such an amazing time. SIUC is one of the most important players in Southern Illinois history and it's role in bringing higher education to Southern Illinois should never be forgotten.
